Role: Sr. Game Designer

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain design documentation, including mechanics, story and guidelines.

Pitch innovative game features that are designed to improve customer acquisition, engagement and/or monetization.

Work with engineering, art and other cross-functional teams to effectively implement new features and systems.

Manage game systems, economy & mechanics.
-
Modelling and tuning complex game systems using Excel.
-
Provide clear feature documentation, diagrams, wireframes and/or prototypes of the features to support and prepare the development team for the implementation process.

Analyze live data and player feedback to continually optimize existing game experience.

Mentor and guide Junior game designers.

Review the teams responsible for multiple mobile game projects, creating game design documents, diagrams and flowcharts.

Work closely with product managers, producers, engineers, and artists to design and prototype new gameplay and systems.

Create and rapidly iterate gameplay, experience, content and features for released live games and unreleased titles in development.

Solve game design problems; produce Game Mechanics, Theme, Monetization Strategies, and Social Features into an integrated product.

Constantly learn about evolving game dynamics, emerging player behavior and trends, and champion these insights to improve effectiveness of design efforts.
Experience and Skills

5+ years of professional game development experience as a game designer for a shipped product/s.

Widely played mobile games, with the ability to articulate what is strong/weak about the design of existing games.

Excellent communication, critical thinking, analysis skills.

Experience with multiple aspects of game design discipline: concept, game progression, monetization, and retention.

Have experience with game economies/business models and ability to analyze game mechanics and systems.

Must be proficient in Excel, Formulas, and able to provide visual designs with mock-ups in an any program of your choice.

Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure that the design specifications are achievable within the technical and production constraints of the project.

Make certain player experience as the ultimate metric for the quality of any feature and content.

Taking ownership of complete game-balancing.

Good documentation and prototyping skills with the typical tools of the trade.

Knowledge on multiple genres of games.

Experience writing product specifications.

Designed games from conception to completion.

Ability to analyze gameplay mechanics and feature designs.

Experience and interest with player-driven economies.

Able to design game systems, individual gameplay features & player progressions.

Understanding of interaction design concepts and principles.

Passionate about gaming and must enjoy playing casual games.
Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Game design degree is a plus.
